A Midwinter's Spring Eve

Dancing shadows on this moonlit head
Play gaily
As starlit motes spin round.
What titter-making merriment
Enfolds me?

I smile
Through these sleepy eyes
And purring thoughts
I grin
And reach to touch a spinning gleam
That winks before it whispers through
My grasp.

They nestle down around me
Stroke my face and hair and skin
And sink into the airy part within
Where moonlight beams her filtered rays
And starlit motes and fairy notes
Dance and sing the night away
In restful dreams
Of pleasant things
And soft meanderings….

Dancing shadows on this moonlit head
Play gaily
As starlit motes spin round.
What titter-making merriment
Enfolds me?
